As an approved SHRTN “Community of Interest” through to 2012, The Ontario Osteoporosis Strategy for Long-Term Care receives support from SHRTN to assist with its knowledge and research dissemination efforts.
Since 2008, several educational and awareness-raising webinars have been offered to long-term care staff, residents, families and volunteers on key bone health protection strategies, and available resources and tools.
The December 2008 issue of the SHRTN Exchange newsletter featured Osteoporosis.
The ViDOS Research Initiative uses SHRTN’s Webinar Technology to link osteoporosis clinical and research experts to Ontario’s long-term care homes to provide osteoporosis and fracture prevention education.
The Osteoporosis Community of Interest has provided poster presentations to the SHRTN Annual Assembly Conferences since 2008.
